"I capture the moments that other people miss- or aren't around for.
I strive to represent the side of my subject that is rare, attractive, and often very enlightening. This is particularly interesting when it comes to athletes. They often have a public image that is fairly expected, one-sided, and super-human. To bring out an unseen and more interesting side, can be very valuable- both to the fan and the athlete as far as broadening their image and accessibility."
Michael has a history of photographing fashion and music. Having honed her skills assisting some of the world's best photographers like Art Streiber, Michael Thompson, Norman Jean Roy, Tony Duran, Tesh and Carter Smith, she is now focusing on photographing worldwide pro sports from a unique and cinematic perspective. She spent time in Spain last season photographing Team Geox-TMC, Leopard Trek and Euskaltel Euskadi. She was hired by Milani Cycles to shoot in Italy and covers pro cycling in Europe for Peloton Magazine and CyclingFans.com. She is also a contributor to Corbis Images and is currently documenting in Africa for UNICEF.
In 2012, Michael plans to continue traveling the world and is always eager to get her hands dirty.

iCCM is a central strategy of the Catalytic Initiative to Save a Million Lives, an initiative funded by UNICEF and partners to reduce child mortality in sub-Saharan Africa.
UN NIG 111202 2 5D 798
Malnutrition is an underlying cause in about one third of all child deaths. In certain countries of sub-Saharan Africa, the relative importance of these killers is higher still. In Mali and Niger for example, diarrhea, pneumonia and malaria cause 60% of child deaths.
UN NIG 111202 2 5D 814
iCCM uses trained, supervised community health workers living in communities beyond the reach of the most peripheral health facilities to deliver low-cost and high impact interventions to the children who need them most.
